When Joy Begins to Give: Turning Restoration into Action

INTRODUCTION

Joy has returned.

Perhaps not with a fanfare, trumpet blasts and heralds… but faithfully, steadily, gradually.

After seasons of waiting, wrestling, and quiet restoration, something within begins to stir again. Not a striving… but a gentle prompting.

A sense that what God has done within us

was never meant to remain there.

Joy does not sit still for long.

It begins to move...

SCRIPTURE

“For I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat.

I was thirsty, and you gave me drink.

I was a stranger, and you took me in.

Naked, and you clothed me.

I was sick, and you visited me.

I was in prison, and you came to me.”

Matthew 25:35–36 (WEB)

POEM

IF...

If I spend my days

In idle ways,

With nothing good to do

If I only stay

In drifting sway,

Instead of seeking You

If I hide my strength

And close my hand

From helping others through

If I never try

To hear the cry

Of those who need a clue

If the words I speak

Only leave the weak

More broken than before

If I only find

A bitter mind

And close every door

Then my life is dry, A hollow lie

A gift I failed to give.

Adonai, reach me,

Humble and teach me Truly how to live.

Reflection

It is possible to receive much…

and yet release very little.

To be restored, comforted, strengthened

and still remain inward.

But the life God gives does not end with us.

When He restores the heart,

He also awakens the hands.

Not always in grand gestures,

but in quiet, faithful acts:

A word spoken in kindness.

A moment given in patience.

A need noticed… and met.

The question is not whether we have something to give.

It is whether we are willing to offer it.

What if the small thing you carry

is the very thing someone else is praying for?

What if the strength you almost hid

was meant to lift another?

Joy, when nurtured, becomes generosity.

Grace, when received, becomes action.

And in giving…

we often find that joy deepens.

SELAH, PAUSE, CONSIDER

What has God placed in your hand that you have set aside?

Where might He be inviting you to respond, not just receive?

Is there a small act of love you can offer today?

THE INVITATION

If this reflection has stirred something within you

and you would like prayer in this area,

please feel free to send in a prayer request.

It would be my privilege to share it with a small group of trusted intercessors

who will lift you before the Lord.

You are not alone in your journey.

Looking Ahead

Next week, we turn inward once more…

Exploring what God has placed within you:

the gifts, the callings, the quiet stirrings

And how they begin to unfold in His timing.
