The Quiet Return of Hope

SCRIPTURE

Lamentations 3:22–23 (WEB)
Because of the Lord’s loving kindness we are not consumed,
because His compassion doesn’t fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Introduction — Easter Reflection

This weekend, we pause to remember…

The depth of love poured out at the cross.

The stillness of the tomb.

And the quiet, powerful triumph of resurrection morning.

From Good Friday’s sorrow

to Resurrection Sunday’s hope,

Even in the waiting of Saturday…

God is still at work,

unseen… but not absent.

We are reminded that what seemed final… was not the end.

What looked like loss

became victory.

What appeared broken

was made whole again.

And in this sacred moment, we are gently reminded:

Hope can live again.

Reflection

Last week, we were faced with a decision.

Not to remain where regret, shame, or fear had tried to settle.

We were called to rise.

But what happens… after the rising?

Because rising is not the end of the journey.

There is a quieter work that follows.

A restoring…

A strengthening…

A returning of hope.

Not all renewal is immediate.

Not all healing is loud.

Sometimes, it begins beneath the surface — unseen, unnoticed… yet deeply real.

God does not rush this work.

He restores.

Gently.

Faithfully.

Completely.

Where there has been weariness, He brings strength.

Where there has been emptiness, He breathes life again.

Where hope has felt distant… He draws it near.

And just as the resurrection did not erase the wounds,

but transformed them…

So too, God works within us — not denying where we have been,

but renewing us from within.

Poem — Life Giving Flow (excerpt)

And in the brilliance of the light that shone

The muck that had been mine, for what seemed always

Melted away from sight.

And for the first time in ages,

I took a deep breath of clean, fresh air.

My lungs filled with its flow.

Joy raced through my being,  And I gave Him the glory

Reflection continued

This is the quiet work of renewal.

Not forced…

Not rushed…

But breathed into us by God Himself.

What once felt heavy begins to lift.

What once felt clouded becomes clear.

And slowly… gently… surely…

Hope returns.

Selah: Pause and Consider

- Where have you begun to sense renewal, even in a small way?

- Is there something God is restoring quietly within you?

- Can you allow yourself to rest… and trust His timing?

Prayer

Dear Father,

Thank You that You are the God who restores.

In the places where we feel worn, tired, or uncertain,

remind us that You are still at work.

Help us not to rush what You are gently rebuilding within us.

Let hope rise again — not by striving,

but through Your presence.

Renew our strength.

Restore our hearts.

And help us trust You in every season.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Looking Ahead

As hope begins to rise again…

Next week, we turn toward Joy & Praise

discovering how light can still be found, even after the climb.
